Casual Friday

The days are finally getting cloudy and cold and I'm elaaaaated.

Sipping hot Jasmine tea, and listening to Lucius and Fleet Foxes on repeat, I've been busying myself indoors.

I picked up this gorgeous, roomy leather midi skirt at my favorite designer vintage boutique, Vintage Chic by Grace.

I adore the way this skirt moves!  The leather is like butter but has a wonderful weight to it, perfect for the cold months.  And though it has a high waist,
I've been feeling so casual that I chose to wear an equally roomy, drapy top.

I've actually been wearing this outfit for a few days now.  As I tend to do with this Tiny Closet of mine :)

skirt: vintage from Vintage Chic by Grace / top: Tiny Closet Collection / booties: Jessica Simpson

I haven't worn these suede booties in nearly a year!  So glad to be reunited with them.  If you have similar booties and you're needing ideas on how to wear them,
you can check out some of the varied ways I've worn these girls in the past...

Have a cozy weekend!

Malibu

It's been one year since Theo and I decided to make it official.  Yesterday, while celebrating our anniversary, we decided to spend the day driving up the coast - making stops wherever we pleased.

One stop in particular was at the beautifully simplistic Malibu Pier.

I wore one of my favorite (only) floral tops.  I decided to get the top in an extra large size since I knew I'd wear it mostly as a dress anyway.  It worked out well as a mini dress I think.
Still, because it's sheer, I layered a little tube dress underneath.

These heels are are now the 3rd pair of shoes I've uncovered during my routine walks through Santee Alley. They were perfect for the conference I went to in Miami, which I can't wait to share about.  And they were also perfect for our day trip in Malibu.  Simple, nude, single-strap heels - they go with everything I own.

Taking photos underneath the boardwalk, I was growing suspicious of the rising waves.
Sure enough...

After being blasted with waves, I just dove right in leaving Theo speechless.
Needless to say, my beautiful leather sandals are still air drying...

Harem Pants Built To Last

With the Style Bloggers of Color conference finished with fond memories, I returned from Miami and I'm catching up on some much needed sleep!

My last post on my maxi that won't quit reminded me another item that always just seems to work in a myriad of ways.
My very first pair of harem pants:

jumper: street stand in Philippines / jacket: American Eagle / high tops: Santee Alley / bag: Banana Republic / earrings: All Saints

I wore these all throughout the Summer and even to bed but I'm finding, with this mild Fall, I can wear them layered as a casual jumper with my high tops.
A new ensemble for me in casual wear because it's easy, fast, cozy and kinda cool looking.

Even though this is my favorite ensemble to date with these pants, here's a few other ways I've worn them:

Getting back to sewing and designing for Fall and Winter, I am happy to be back to my usual tricks and schedule.

And for those of you who were not able to attend my workshop on blog photography,
I am excited to say that I will be posting a video of my presentation on my blog!
So keep your eyes out for the post!

My New Monsters

Well!  It's one more day until I'm off to Miami and all I've been doing for the past week is prepping, planning and more prepping!
When I'm at my computer (which is all the time) I always listen to my favorite playlists on Spotify while I edit photos, blog and keep up to date with my emails from readers.  I really can go for hours if I have the right music so when my trusty headphones of 6 years finally broke in half, it was almost serendipitous when BlogHer contacted me to see if I was interested in trying out a new pair of headphones by Monster .
Now, I'm pretty picky with any kind of music gear and actually, this is the first sponsored blog post I've done to date, but my campaign with BlogHer came about so organically, I couldn't resist!
Especially after I put them on...

These phones are stellar.  I listen to a lot of r&b and hip hop and dance music and these babies really hold their own.  Meaning the bass is deeelicious!
Aaaaand, Monster Headphones is actually giving away like 25 pairs this month so you can enter for a chance to win a pair for yourself :)  Just click over to the Monster Headphones page on Walmart.com and let them know in the comments section which is your favorite NTunes color for a chance to win.

A Maxi That Won't Quit!

 *sigh*

How do I love this All Saints maxi?

Let me count the ways...

This maxi of mine has been in the Tiny Closet game for a minute!  I have worn it every which way on all kinds of days, for all sorts of occasions in all types of weather.

Don't believe me?  See for yourself:

In the Winter with a beanie

With leather

As a skirt

With a vest

As a muumuu

aaaaaaand - now with a jacket, a belt and some feminine Fall suede wedges.

jacket: Free People / belt: Abercrombie & Fitch / dress: All Saints / wedges: Santee Alley

When it works, it works, you know?  This maxi just fits with my lifestyle (along with several other pieces that I own) and really raises the bar when I shop for new items because I want all of my clothes to be as comfortable and as versatile as this.  Why not?  Admittedly, it was a pricey item but I knew I'd make the most out of it.  I hadn't guessed just how much I would but its consistent all-season wear and longevity has been a pleasant surprise.  Ah, I love this Tiny Closet of mine!  Endless possibilities!

Happy Monday!

Living In My Ankle Boots

On the way to grabbing some Pho for lunch, I threw on some old faves with my newest favorite ankle boots.  I am wearing these boots everywhere now.  The perfect Tiny Closet shoe:
They go amazingly with everything I have.

It's still pretty warm so try as I might, I can't dive into Fall quite yet but this darker, edgy outfit will do fine for now.  My muscle tee, a great casual top for my spur of the moment outings.
And my leather studded belt - a staple for me while traveling through Asia.

My roommate, got me a pack of dark, glittery Sally Hanson's nail polish strips that I just love!  Yes, yes I know I'm just now trying them but I've always wanted to and these are awesome!
So shiny too, which is what I always strive for with real manis.

tee: Original Gangster / skirt: Santee Alley (Garment District of L.A.) / belt: Zara / boots: Santee Alley / earrings: Tory Burch

It is almost time for the
Style Bloggers of Color Conference!!!
I've actually got a lot planned this month, including my one year anniversary of being married.  Sooooo a couple firsts for me are happening this month that I'm incredibly excited about.  I've been in work/hibernation mode so far - the calm before the storm LOL.  Getting ready for all the festivities!

Have a great weekend!
